Alessia Quatela (09-2013)

Profile

Alessia Quatela received the degree in Physics with grade 110/110 at the University of Rome "Tor Vergata" and obtained the Ph.D. at the same University collaborating with "Pirelli Cables and Systems SpA" and "Laboratoire de Photonique" of Angers on a joint research project for the realization and characterization of optoelectronic devices based on innovative second order nonlinear optical organic nanomaterials. Between 2006 and 2009 She spent a period in Paris as Post-Doctoral Fellow at the "École Normale Superiore"(ENS) to build-up an innovative electro-optical microscope for trans-membrane action potential measurements, and then at the "Istitut Curie" for the characterization of adhesion forces exerted by the filopodia by means of optical tweezers. In 2009, She worked as Research Fellow on a project to develop the first Italian stimulated time-resolved Raman set-up at the Department of Physics in the University of Rome "Sapienza". She is currently working in Prof. Aldo Di Carlo group on a project mainly focused on the characterization of charge transfer in DSSCs by means of ultrafast spectroscopy. She has a wide background spanning from steady state and time resolved infrared and visible detection techniques to lithography and molecular orientation techniques. Alessia Quatela is coauthor and author of 25 scientific publications in international journals and national and international conference communications. In 2006 She taught "Experimental Methods in Physics" to Doctoral students at the University of Rome "Tor Vergata" and in 2008 "Physics" to medical undergraduate students at "Universitè Paris Descartes" of Paris.
